• Roots & Harvest

Cultivating Food Sovereignty Through Applied STEM

Roots and Harvest merges science, sustainability, and community empowerment to address food sovereignty. Using climate-controlled, hydroponic farming, we’ll be growing culturally relevant crops that support the health, identity, and resilience of underrepresented communities.

Through hands-on applied STEM learning, we aim to empower individuals to engage with agriculture, technology, and sustainability while tackling real-world challenges like food access and environmental resilience. By blending traditional knowledge with modern innovation, Roots and Harvest is shaping a future where everyone has access to the foods they know and love—grown locally and sustainably.

🌍 Impact: Bridging STEM education, food security, and economic empowerment to create thriving, self-sustaining communities.

  • STEM is for ME

    Representation Matters in STEM

STEM is for ME is a key initiative within our Career Pathways pillar, designed to increase representation and access to STEM careers. By providing diverse, culturally responsive STEM resources, this initiative ensures that underrepresented youth—including girls, racialized students, rural learners, and neurodivergent individuals—can see real-life STEM role models and discover career opportunities that align with their interests.

Did you know? Globally, women comprise only 29.2% of the STEM workforce across 146 nations, compared to nearly 50% in non-STEM occupations. (swe.org)

Through engaging stories, STEM is for ME breaks stereotypes and makes STEM relatable, aspirational, and inclusive. By fostering confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging, we are empowering the next generation to envision themselves as future scientists, engineers, and innovators.

🌍 Impact: Expanding career awareness, mentorship, and pathways into STEM industries for underrepresented youth.
